FundScrip passes $5M raised
Montreal, QC, Nov. 14, 2011 – FundScrip (powered by Fundstream Inc.) has announced that they have surpassed the $5 million dollars raised mark. These funds have been raised by non-profit organizations, schools, cultural and community groups and sports teams or clubs who participate in the FundScrip gift card fundraising program.
“Achieving group earnings of over five million dollars is a significant milestone for our young company,” said Christopher Hill, President & CEO of Fundstream Inc. “It is important because it confirms, and quantifies, the value that FundScrip brings to not-for-profit organizations across Canada. Also, the fact that this number is growing so quickly as more fundraising groups discover us is extremely encouraging.”
The bulk of the funds have been raised in the past two years and FundScrip expects to exceed the $6 million dollar raised mark in spring 2012.
FundScrip offers a means for groups to raise money by purchasing gift cards at face value and receiving a percentage rebate that is remitted back to the group. FundScrip offers rebate rates that exceed credit card reward programs. Rebates can run up to 15 percent.
Although many groups run the FundScrip program throughout the entire year, the holidays are the busiest period for the gift card based program. Buying gift cards for loved ones during the holidays can mean supporting a good cause in addition to giving the full monetary value of the card.
