Originally used by schools, scrip fundraising or gift card fundraising is an amazing way to raise money by asking your supporters to pay for their everyday purchases (grocery, gas, pharmacy, etc.) with gift cards. With FundScrip, up to 15% of your supporters’ purchases are contributed to your group.
It’s a great way to raise money from the purchases your supporters are already making – eliminating the need to ask for handouts or sympathy sales, since you’re not asking anyone to change what they buy, where they buy it, or how much they spend. You’re just asking them to pay with gift cards, instead of cash, debit or credit. It’s that easy.
Your supporters can order online by signing up and placing orders on our website; or they can order collectively through you using paper order forms (after which you place the orders online on their behalf either individually or collectively in one bulk order). We even offer recurring orders (“Set it and forget it”) for supporters who pay via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) – the best way to pay.
If a typical family spends $600/month on groceries & $200/month on gas & $200/month at the pharmacy and/or home & garden stores for a total of $1,000/month, and, on average, your group earns just over 3% on these purchases, then just one family can generate $30/month or $360/year in contributions to your group. So just 10 supporters buying nothing more than the necessities could earn your group $3,600 in a year!

- Create a plea for support with your goal clearly stated
- Establish a financial target and timeline
- Choose the program options most appropriate for your needs
- Promote & re-promote the program to your prospective supporters using online tools and electronic documents that we provide
- Depending on the Distribution Options you choose, you may need to distribute the orders to your supporters after each order cycle
- Depending on the Payment Options you choose, you may need to confirm receipt of cheques prior to order processing deadline; and then you will need to pay us collectively for all of those orders.
