But how else are you going to pay for the extra expenses your team or club will have to cover? Contrary to popular belief, fundraising doesn’t have to involve door-to-door, sympathy sales, chocolate bars or bottle drives.
Yes, there is a better way! Over 100 of Canada’s leading retailers have teamed up with FundScrip to offer this innovative fundraising program. FundScrip has helped hundreds of teams & clubs across Canada meet or exceed their fundraising goals without selling anything.

How FundScrip Works
Your supporters spend thousands of dollars every year on groceries, gas, clothing, dining out, and much more. By participating in FundScrip, that spending is transformed into fundraising dollars for your team or club. Just think – each time your supporters pump gas, rent a movie, buy groceries or make any other purchase from their favourite stores, your group earns money.
By asking your supporters to purchase gift cards from FundScrip to pay for their everyday shopping, your group earns cash contributions on all of their purchases. Your supporters can order online or you can use our paper based ordering system. The turn around time from ordering to arrival of the gift cards is very quick - usually just a couple of days. And your orders arrive sorted in sealed envelopes with the supporters' names on the outside for quick, easy distribution.
What type of teams clubs use FundScrip?
We have baseball, basketball, cheerleading, dance, figure skating, gymnastics, hockey, lacrosse, martial arts, ringuette, rowing, rugby, soccer, speed skating, swimming & aquatics, track & field teams using our program. But don’t worry. If you have a team or club and you don’t see your name on this list, we can probably help you too!

What’s the catch?
There is no catch! Our participating retailers want to develop customer loyalty, support worthwhile causes, and sell more gift cards. We have created a program that does all three!
FundScrip’s overwhelming success can be attributed to three main factors:
- No additional costs to supporters
- Supporters raise funds through purchases they make from the stores they shop at regularly.
- Online tools help our volunteers manage their programs
We are a small group. Can we still participate?
Absolutely! However, you'll need a minimum of 10 committed supporters to get started. But it will pay off because a typical family spends $600/month on groceries & $200/month on gas and $200/month at the pharmacy and/or home & garden stores for a total of $1,000/month. On average, your group will earn just over 3% on these purchases. So just one family will generate $30/month or $360/year in contributions to your group, which means that only 10 families buying nothing more than the necessities will earn your group $3,600 in a year!

Our club/team has a fundraising obligation. Does FundScrip keep track of who is earning how much so we can credit it back to them?
Absolutely. In fact, we encourage you to think about making FundScrip more of a personal fundraiser for your team/club. You will find that participation goes up when your members benefit directly from their own efforts. Our easy to use Administrator Dashboard will help you keep track of what each of your supporters has earned.

How do our supporters order and pay?
Most clubs and sports teams set up our program online, where supporters sign-up and order online themselves, paying for their own orders. All of your group's orders are shipped together via courier, and arrive sorted in sealed envelopes with the supporters' names on them for quick, easy distribution.
We provide electronic brochures and support documents to help you and your supporters to get started.
Some groups opt to run the program through one person who collects orders and payment from everyone. They place the orders online on their behalf paying for them collectively. These groups use our paper order forms that can be found online. Again, all orders are individually packed in to their own envelope and shipped together via courier. And the turn-around time is usually 3 to 4 business days.
