The success of your FundScrip fundraiser can be improved with the use of technology. Whether it is with social media or video conferencing tools, you can continue to raise funds effectively with your group. Here are some tips to help you to take advantage of the online options to raise funds.

Leverage Social Media

Social media is a very effective way to reach out to people and can be used at your discretion to help you engage with existing supporters or attract new ones to help you attain success in your fundraising campaign.

Create an account on Facebook, if you don’t already have one, and then create a page to showcase your group. You can create an Instagram or a Twitter account for your group as well. Refer to our previous post on 5 tips to use social media for your fundraising campaign.

After you’ve created an account or a page, you can contact your supporters and ask them to follow you on your social media profiles.

Create and publish content on a regular basis to keep your followers engaged. There is no strict rule about the number of times you should post, but a good starting point would be 1 to 3 posts a week. Publish news about the fundraising campaign, goals, etc. Be creative with your content and adapt it for your followers and their needs.

Consider running a contest on social media to see who can raise the most money amongst all the supporters.

Take Advantage of Video Conferencing

Video conferencing is very popular right now. It’s a great way to keep in contact with each other and add a human dynamic to the exchanges between group administrators and supporters, even with the physical distancing.

Everyone is learning how to use these video conferencing tools, therefore your group will likely be much more open to meeting via video conference as compared to in the past.

Meeting your supporters, and importantly seeing their face, will help to motivate them to participate and spread the word about your fundraiser.

Use a Campaign Page

Groups have the ability to create a public Campaign Page to promote their fundraiser. Group Administrators can create this page, submit for approval and then share with their supporters when approved.

You can share your campaign page link on social media and also in your video conferences, in the chat box.
