How to Keep Your Fundraiser Supporters Engaged

Starting a fundraiser has big implications, which can be scary when we don’t know where to start. Our group administrators must have asked themselves at one point: “What now?”. Starting a group is one thing, but engaging supporters is another. Here are a few tips on how to keep your supporters active:

Reach People Through Social Media

A lot of people use social media, this is no secret. Making a page on Facebook will let you communicate with your supporters when needed and at the same time, you can get new supporters. Learn how to use social media to get supporters.

Communicate with Them Regularly

Supporters will be more likely engaged if they feel concerned and implicated in the campaign. Delivering regular campaign updates will show them the outcome of their work. If your group makes regular orders, giving a weekly update should be considered, or every two weeks. Also, don’t forget to encourage them and to make their opinion count. If they have something to say, listen and value it.

Organize Meetups

You may keep in touch with your supporters online, but you should definitely meet up with them in person once in a while. You could set a short-term goal for the fundraiser and when it is reached, celebrate it. For example, for every $1,000 raised, you could go to the restaurant with your group’s supporters. Another tip: choose a FundScrip retailer and encourage everyone to get a gift card for the event! That way, you’re raising funds at the same time. Don’t forget to take pictures and share them on the page!

Incent Supporters with a Fundraising Reward

If possible, add a fundraising incentive. It could be a free t-shirt, a free gift card or free tickets for a sports game, depending on what you can get and offer. Make your fundraising fun, may your supporter with the most sales be the winner! Gamification is always a good technique to encourage their activity.

Don’t Forget to Say Thanks!
