Why Saying Thank You Is a Must While Fundraising

Fundraising is not an easy process. Looking for people who actually care enough to help out might be harder than you think, but once you find a good number of people who constantly make efforts to help your campaign, like your FundScrip supporters, it’s easier to achieve your goals. When you’ve been fundraising for a while, you can get used to people helping you, but you should never take their help for granted. That is why it’s so important to say thank you and really mean it. Those supporters are the ones who make your goals achievable and you should cherish that. Here are a couple of easy and cheap ideas to say thank you that are not just a plain email.

1- Send a personal handwritten note at the end of the campaign or year

An email is probably easier but making the effort to write something personal and sending out letters by mail is a really good way to show your supporters you care.

2- Organize a thank you brunch for you best supporters

This is a fun way to say thank you to the people who helped you achieve your goals. Prepare fruits, homemade muffins and coffee for an inexpensive and healthy brunch.

3- Run a contest to say thank you

If your supporters are constantly helping you out, by ordering gift cards on FundScrip for example, running a contest will motivate them to help you even more. You could give out a gift basket to the supporter who placed the most orders during a specific period, for example.

4- Feature your best supporters/donors

If you have a website or a message board, you might want to give a shout out to your most amazing donors. If you receive a donation from a company, featuring them on your platform is something they will definitely appreciate.

5- Show them what happened with the money

Once your campaign is over and you finally use the money you earned to realize your project/trip, make sure you take photos so you can send them afterwards. Along with a thank you message, showing what they made happen with their donations will make them feel super good about it.

Showing your supporters and donors you are grateful is a must in the fundraising world, it will make them feel good about donating or helping and will also make them want to do it again. What’s your way of saying thank you?
