What Does a Canada Post Strike Mean for FundScrip Supporters?

Mail carrier in uniform with a red bag and yellow vest stands between two apartment doors, holding a package and a letter.

On September 25, 2025, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) launched a national strike. Mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered and no new items will be accepted by Canada Post for the duration of the strike.

Until the strike is over, orders for which supporters would normally select Direct Shipping via Lettermail™ or Xpresspost™ will be disabled. Please carefully read below the alternatives available to FundScrip groups and their supporters.

Groups That Use Direct Shipping

Use Electronic and Reloadable Gift Cards: Take advantage of the 185 eGift card brands in the FundScrip catalogue. Learn more about ordering and redeeming eGift cards from FundScrip, or view our eGift card catalogue. If you already have a reloadable gift card in your possession, additional funds can be added to the card from the FundScrip Wallet.

Groups That Use Group Shipping

If the administrator(s) of your fundraising group place(s) group orders, the strike will not affect any deliveries. Continue to place orders as you normally would. These orders are shipped via courier service, not Canada Post.

FundScrip will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as more information becomes available. You can also find updates on Canada Post negotiations at https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/cpc/en/our-company/news-and-media/corporate-news/negotiations-list.page.
