Now is the time for the FundScrip year review! 2020, what a year. So many things happened for every one of us, and great changes happened at FundScrip. Here are some of our most memorable moments.

New Retailers

Lululemon became one of our retailers this year. We were very happy to welcome a Canadian-based, internationally renowned retailer that specializes in technical athletic apparel. It’s a great addition for our groups and supporters.

We also added Harry Rosen, Canada's destination for men's style. A great new retailer for the men in our groups.

FundScrip also welcomed H&M as a new retailer. H&M offers fashion and quality at the best price and in a sustainable way for women, men, teens, children, and the home.

Finally, Ôrigine artisans hôteliers also joined FundScrip. Ôrigine artisans hôteliers is the first hotel coop and largest network of independent hotels in Quebec, Ôrigine artisans hôteliers brings together more than 30 inns and hotels across Quebec. Carefully selected, the hoteliers offer a wide variety of relaxation, gastronomic, romantic, urban, resort and outdoor experiences.

New Gift Cards Types

Dollarama now offers electronic gift cards, and both plastic and electronic gift cards will be in the FundScrip Wallet with live balance check.

Walmart now offers electronic gift cards, reloadable gift cards and balance check in the FundScrip wallet too.

Increased Discounts

We always try to increase the donation percentages for every retailer. This year we increased three donations permanently.

Lowe's increased from 2% to 3%.

Walmart, in addition to the new gift card types, also increased their donation from 2% to 3%.

Ivanhoé Cambridge increased their donation from 3% to 3.5%

Free Shipping on Direct Shipping

To help those groups and supporters who were affected by COVID-19, we started to offer free shipping on Direct Shipping via Lettermail orders. This shipping method allows you to have your FundScrip orders shipped directly to any Canadian address of your choice, and who doesn’t love free shipping?

Fundraising Adaptation in the Time of COVID-19

Due to the situation with the Covid-19, fundraising campaigns had to be adapted in order to conform to the new sanitary directives. Therefore, we wrote many articles trying to help groups adapt to the changing conditions during the fundraising season in the time of Covid.

We showed ways to continue fundraising remotely, since it’s so easy to do with FundScrip

In addition, we also talked about how to succeed with FundScrip fundraiser online, with a few tips on social media and video-conferencing.

We pointed out the advantages of a contactless fundraiser with FundScrip, like Direct Shipping, Electronic and Reloadable Gift Cards, and using gift cards online.

The Upsides of 2020

Even though it was a challenging year in many respects, we were very impressed to see many of our groups successfully adapt their fundraising efforts. We also were very happy to be able to help new groups to start to raise funds with us.

With the year 2020, we saw the power of the internet to bring us all together, and we hope that 2021, with all that we learned this year, will be easier for everybody. Let’s see what 2021 has in store for us!
