Putting together your FundScrip Starter Kit

No one understands the importance of presenting your fundraising campaign to potential supporters in a clear and concise fashion more than FundScrip.

In fact, it can be said that the rate of success is often proportionate to the effort a FundScrip Group Administrator and their volunteers put into their overall campaign. That being said, it’s really vital that you start your campaign off on the right foot and with what better way than with a FundScrip Starter Kit!

By definition, a starter kit includes set of articles or equipment, which provides essential items and instructions for taking up a particular activity or process for the first time.

True, the concept of a starter kit isn’t exactly a new thing but it’s a tried and true way to get everyone going in the same direction, with the same expectations and leaves little room for uncertainty about your FundScrip campaign.

As a FundScrip Group Administrator, you may not be aware of it but you have access to an assortment of documents to Launch and Promote your fundraising campaign in the Program Manager Library. What you might not know is that several of these documents cleverly grouped together can make up an awesome FundScrip Starter Kit.

The following documents can all be found in the Library within the Launch Your Program tab.

Sample letter

The sample letter introduces the FundScrip program to your potential supporter.

Simply choose one of the sample letters most appropriate for the type of fundraising program your group has chosen to implement.

Choose from: Paper Ordering Group, Administrator Ordering Group or Supporter Ordering Group

Also feel free to write your own sample letter based on ours, after all you know your audience best.

Quick Start Guide

Typically for Supporter Ordering Programs, this document offers a step-by-step guide, which shows potential supporters how to register to support your group.

Ordering Guide for Supporters

This useful guide explains how to order gift cards from the FundScrip Ordering Site.

EFT Application for Supporters

Supporter Ordering Programs should try to have their supporters activate payments through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) – it’s simple to sign up for it and it’s free to use. Supporters simply complete the application form and send back it to FundScrip. This document includes the EFT Terms and Conditions.

Oh, be careful to not confuse this application form with the Group EFT Application.

Monthly Promotions

Attaching the current FundScrip Monthly Promotions / Ordering Form to your Starter Kit is also a great way to get some orders out of the gate and best of all, the increased donations on the spotlighted retailers means your group raises more toward your goal at the same time.

Participating Retailers List

It’s convenient for the potential supporter to have the list of FundScrip Participating Retailers. This gives them an opportunity to plan their orders ahead of time, which means more donations for your group.

Paper Order Form

If your program type gives you access to creating a customized Paper Order Form for your group (typically Paper Ordering Programs), you should definitely take advantage of this feature by adding this document to your kit.

Whether you choose all or a selection of these documents, putting together a few of these starter kits and offering them to potential supporters at events, meetings, information counters, team meetings, etc. is a great way to start a conversation and introduce your campaign as well as your goal.

In the end, the purpose is to recruit new supporters, sign them up as well as to make supporting your cause as pain free as possible and these starter kits can definitely help make that happen.
